In 2009, he was photo editor, then executive editor of the Daily Sundial, the student-run publication at Cal State Northridge. He also worked with the Los Angeles Daily News as a photography intern in the summer of 2009. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from CSUN.
He has also served as a staff photographer at the Antelope Valley Press and the Santa Clarita Valley Signal, community newspapers in north Los Angeles County.
